Customers were engaged at Metaphorically’s booth, one out of many at the Etsy Craftivist Market at Capitol Piazza on 30 November and 1 December.

Held annually, the two day pop-up from the local Etsy community attracts craft enthusiasts to see unique products in person. Some of the handmade items featured this year include sewn pouches, calligraphy on Agate slices and earrings made from Japanese origami paper.

About what attracts her here, Genevieve Lee, a university student, said: "I was curious to see how people make different kinds of crafts from unconventional materials, not the usual paint with paper.”

The event is usually held towards the end of the year and serves as an opportunity for Christmas shoppers to look for gifts as well. Lee was one of the many who got engraved keychains from Metaphorically, satisfied with her gift choice as it “has more of a personalised touch and it’s not just store bought.”

Organisers of the event are from Etsy Craftivist, a community created in 2015 by local Etsy sellers to support the local Etsy community. Started in the US, Etsy is an international e-marketplace for handmade and vintage goods.
